The Mid-America Chapter received the Chapter Ten Star GOLD Award, which recognizes the Chapter as a model in accomplishing the goals set forth by AFP and chapter leadership. The Chapter is also a 2014 Friend of Diversity. The Chapter is also a past recipient of the Founders' Award for Public Service, honoring chapter achievements in promoting and maintaining high standards of public service and conduct.

As part of Kansas City Repertory Theatre’s Development team, the Grant Writer will work closely with the Director of Development to effectively execute the creation of grant proposals and reports covering a wide range of program areas. While this position will have a particular focus on proposals, reports, LOIs and other administrative requests for government, institutional/family foundations, and corporate donors, it will also offer the opportunity to expand the grant writer’s portfolio to include broader development writing, such as case statements and related donor presentations. Primary duties will include initiating, coordinating, and executing all major/ leadership gift fundraising that constitute a significant portion of campus advancement. Characteristic duties include identifying, cultivating, and soliciting prospective donors for major gifts and leadership level gifts. Collaborate with the Alumni Constituent Relations directors to identify major and leadership gift prospects. Collaborate with senior leadership in developing strategic plans for major gift solicitation. Develop fundraising collateral materials to enhance the image of UMKC and promote fundraising strategies.
